The college athletes are the ones who are putting the work they need to put in every week for more than 40 hours. They practice their craft in order to help the school win, but they are the ones not getting paid or recognized. It can be described as slavery. The NCAA is taking advantage of the players in a big way, so I believe the NCAA should pay the athletes because it is the right thing to do in order to stop the comparison of the NCAA being slavery.

Paying out of Pocket

 

It has been proven that college athletes from the basketball and football programs have been coming out of their pocket to pay fees that the NCAA don't pay. The basketball and football athletic programs are producing most of the NCAA's money in order to fund other sports involved with the NCAA. They can afford to cover the full cost of attendance for an athlete involved in other sports other than basketball and football. If the NCAA pay the basketball and football players then it will allow the players to pay for the rest of their education that the NCAA doesn't cover.

There has been a lot of controversy on the one-and-done rule in college basketball. The reason why a lot of basketball players are leaving college after their freshman year is because they feel they have the talent to be in the NBA, but they also don't want to keep paying for an education they can't afford. If the NCAA start paying the basketball players then it will keep the players in college for more than one year of college.
